Coconut Key Lime Pie Smoothie

This post is sponsored by So Delicious Dairy Free. I LOVE their coconut milk products and am so excited to be partnering to bring you this recipe. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Body Unburdened and help make the work I do possible!

Say what you will about New Jersey…

But there’s one thing for certain: they know how to do diners and their diners know how to do pie.

One of my favorite things to do when I’m back in my home state visiting family is hit up the diner down the street from where I grew up and get a slice of Key Lime Pie. (No, no it’s not very healthy — balance.)

Of all of the pies to choose from, it’s my favorite. Something about that sweet and tart combo really tickles my taste buds. And since I’ve been a little homesick recently all the way across the country in CA, I thought I’d try to recreate my favorite pie in smoothie-form.

This Coconut Key Lime Pie Smoothie is certainly a break-away from my typical veggie-filled, low-carb smoothie that doubles as a meal, but it’s a great healthy dessert option — surely a heck of a lot healthier than my favorite pie that inspired it!

Coconut Key Lime Pie Smoothie

  • 1 cup So Delicious unsweetened coconut milk*
  • 2 tbs So Delicious Coconut Culinary Milk*
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/3 cup cashews
  • 1/2 medium avocado
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Handful of ice
  • Optional: 1 scoop collagen peptides (or other protein powder of choice)

*Check to see if your local stores carry these items using So Delicious Dairy Free’s store locator tool.

Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend on high for 15-20 seconds.

Serve and enjoy!

(Yes, it’s that simple! Ah, the beauty of smoothies 🙂 )

Coconut milk is my personal favorite non-dairy alternative, and I’ve really been enjoying So Delicious’ Dairy Free coconut milk products — the milk and culinary milk I used in this recipe, as well as the coffee creamer, the yogurts, and (of course!) the ice creams.

So Delicious Dairy Free uses organic ingredients whenever possible, and most of the coconut milk products are USDA certified organic. They’re also certified vegan; non-GMO Project verified; naturally cholesterol free since they’re plant based; free of artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners; and don’t contain any hydrogenated oils or trans-fats.

And the best part: these delicious, healthy options are now sold in so many stores! So you can go ahead and pick up everything you need to make delicious smoothie!
