Everyone loves a homemade gift.
And I’m going to let you in on a little secret: sugar scrubs are the easiest of easy homemade gift options.
Yes, even you non-DIYers can whip up a delicious smelling, ultra moisturizing sugar scrub in no time.
And everyone LOVES a good sugar scrub! Because they’re a fun little treat — like a special at-home spa treatment — that not many people typically buy for themselves.
This DIY All-Natural Gingerbread Sugar Scrub is the perfect homemade holiday gift!
Gingerbread is such a classic holiday scent. Plus, the scrub deeply moisturizes skin which is so necessary during the dry winter months.
DIY All-Natural Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
Ingredients:
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apricot kernel, jojoba, or kukui oil (my favorite)*
- 1/2 tsp vanilla bean powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp allspice
You’ll also need a clean 8 oz jar to store your scrub.
*These oils are easily absorbed and have a very faint scent which is why they are ideal for sugar scrubs
Directions
- Add all ingredient to a medium mixing bowl
- Stir until an even consistency
- Transfer the scrub into a jar
- As always, blow yourself a kiss in the mirror and say “I’m so clever.”
Yes, it’s that easy!
And if giving as a gift, I do recommend including a little tag with the ingredients and name of the product.
Sorry one more question….would vanilla bean paste work instead of the powder?
Where can you purchase Vanilla bean powder….I have called around to different 4 different grocery stores and they don’t carry it. Does it have to be the powder….and it not be the extract?
Hey, Allyson! Definitely!! Another good one since the scent is light and its easily absorbed. Have fun 🙂
I can’t wait to make this!! Would it be okay to use almond oil? I have a bunch of it, and I’d really like to use it up!
Thank you for sharing the recipe!
