Meet Nadia

Hello there! I’m Nadia — wellness nerd, natural beauty junkie, DIY enthusiast, and certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.

I’m the author of everything you’ll find here at Body Unburdened.

My mission is to help readers like you adopt a non-toxic lifestyle rooted in real food, natural beauty, and a healthy home.

A quick bit about me: you can most often find me with my nose in a book (either health-related or fiction), doing yoga in my living room while watching whatever show I happen to be Netflix binging on at the moment (I’m a multitasker), puzzling it up with my sweetie Eric (as in, we really like puzzles), playing with my ridiculously adorable nieces (so stinking cute!), or in my bathroom testing out a new DIY all-natural skincare recipe or face oil (I have an ever-so-slight obsession).

Healthy living is important to me because I love life.

It’s really as simple as that.

Because I can enjoy life to its fullest when I feel my best, and I feel my best when my body is properly nourished and cared for.

Because when it comes down to it, healthy living is preventative care that will add more years to your life as well as more life to your years.

I believe this so wholeheartedly that I started Body Unburdened to shout it from the rooftops across the interwebs.

My health philosophy is simple.

Healthy living doesn’t need to be some agonizing, painstaking process that makes you feel like you can’t do/have/eat all of the things you love! You just need to keep it real and slowly turn health from a goal to a lifestyle.

Real food: Just eat real food. OK OK, so it does get a little more complicated than that. But first and foremost, we need to ditch the fake, heavily-processed Standard American Diet (SAD… could that acronym be any more appropriate!?) and eat the real, nutrient-dense foods our bodies were designed to thrive on.

Healthy home: Many home cleaning products and furnishings are loaded with toxic chemicals. It’s for this reason that indoor air can be up to six times more polluted than outdoor air. Crazy, right? So as often as possible, it’s important to use only real products in your home. This means ditching the toxic “air-fresheners” and cleaners for human-safe alternatives.

Natural beauty: Our skin is our body’s largest organ and absorbs up to 60% of whatever we put on it. So whatever we put on it better be real — healthy, safe, non-toxic makeup and skincare choices are easy to find. Check out my favorites!

You’ll also notice that sustainable living plays a big role in Body Unburdened. My undergraduate studies in international relations and environmental studies greatly influenced my thoughts on sustainability and choices as a consumer, which I try to pass on to readers as often as possible. After all, how can we be healthy if we live in an unhealthy world?

Does this all make sense to you, too?

Yes? Yay!

We’re on the same page.
